AHEC Student Ambassador Program

The Pre-Professional Healthcare Workforce conference is a student-driven event from High Sierra Area Health Education Center (AHEC), targeting undergraduate students. Volunteer Student Ambassadors have invited over 25 local healthcare leaders and practitioners to share their skills, experience, and expertise in a 2-day symposium held at the University of Nevada, Reno. Students will gain insight into the complexity of healthcare professions, including interprofessional education, cultural awareness, ethics, and patient-provider interactions. Topic sessions are held on the hour, every hour. Moreover, a keynote and networking dinner will be held the evening of April 7th for students and professionals to collaborate and collectively better prepare the healthcare workforce of Northern Nevada.
