Welcome to the University of Nevada Division of Health Sciences! We are proud that our division is one of the fastest-growing in the entire University system—and for a number of great reasons. If you are seeking challenging and innovative educational, research and community outreach programs that are improving health and health care locally and globally, you have come to the right place.

We are unique in the breadth, depth and integration of programs provided by our four schools: the School of Medicine, Orvis School of NursingSchool of Community Health Sciences and School of Social Work, and our six centers: Recreation and Wellness Center, Sanford Center for Aging, Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT), and the Nevada Center for Surveys, Evaluation, and Statistics (CSES).

Whether you visit our campus in person or virtually through our website, we hope you leave with a better appreciation of our outstanding faculty, programs and dedication to our mission of improving health and health care in Nevada. The work of our faculty and students is transforming lives through education and action.

Our School of Medicine also is proud to offer an exceptional educational value. We are ranked a National Tier One University based on the quality of our students, faculty, research and degree programs. The Division of Health Sciences offers dozens of major and minor degree programs in an exciting array of undergraduate and graduate specialty areas. Our graduates are prepared to go forward into the world to improve health and quality of life or to enter advanced programs for further study in a wide variety of health-related fields.

We are excited that so many students want to be what we are and do what we do. We are excited that Nevada will be better served as our students move into many different health professions and serve their clients, patients and communities. We are excited that so many students recognize the quality and value that we have to offer in our educational programs.

We also are aware of the awesome responsibility we have to teach, train, mentor, supervise, advise and support these students. We seek to inspire our students and connect them to their communities, defined in many ways. Ultimately that is where they will work and thrive. I welcome everyone to find out more by delving into our website and visiting our campus. On behalf of all of us across the Division of Health Sciences, I invite you to continue to learn and wish you all great success.
